Flamenc-Oh!
Flamenc-Oh! follows a family of flamenco artists ruled by a strict patriarch, in a household where custom and tradition are law. When a new guitarist arrives with fresh musical influences from outside the tradition, the family's rigid order begins to unravel, setting off a comic story of love, passion and revenge. The Spanish company Yllana fuse authentic flamenco - cante, guitar and live dance - with broad physical humour, in a production offered as a tribute to the art form rather than a parody.
The show is created by Yllana, the internationally touring Spanish company also behind The Opera Locos, with choreography by Carlos Chamorro and musical direction by Juan Cañas, Michael McMuffin and Daniel Rovalher. The company features flamenco performers David Bastidas, Raquela Ortega, Raúl Ortega, Anabel Moreno and Luis Gallo. Combining genuine artistry with wild comedy, it is designed to appeal to newcomers and flamenco enthusiasts alike.
